Oh baby, drove up to the Oregon border on the longest leg of the journey so far. Janay took the wheel in the morning. Listened to the complete box collection of Led Zepplin tunes on the way up. It makes you tap your toes, which is a good thing when you're running behind on an already long trip. Just lay into the pedal. Good views and good music - and good Lord! Crikey! Po-Po found us again today. We got pulled over on the 5 freeway somewhere south of Redding. I let the cop follow me for a few minutes with his lights flashing. I didn't really want to pull over. And I needed to be absolutely sure he wanted to pull me over too. You can never be too careful. Our license plate, as it turned out, was outside legal height from the bumper. It was too high above the road, and as the po-po explained, is not illuminated for the other drivers. He officially put us behind schedule and as it stands, will be somewhere 45min to an hour behind schedule. Sounds like another routine pull-over, and it gets more complicated every year.
