Shaking and Baking
We're hitting the road with steel-toed boots. Loaded up the Mallard with all the gear and good karma we could squeeze into it. Had time for sandwiches and a quick stop at the Border Patrol checkpoint on the 5N. All the cars were flagged through. We got palmed by the patrol officer and had to stop and answer a few questions about our prerogative wander lusting. It's as they say, if the RV's a rocking, don't come a knocking. But I guess maybe they are the exception. Actually, everyone who comes a knockin on this trip will probably be the exception. Because as it turns out, this RV is a rocker. I'm pretty sure there was an earthquake that came rip roaring through the cabin last night that scattered our gear, swallowed my 9V adaptor, and put a leak into some bottom dwelling gasket on the engine. Yep, so the Mallard rocks as well as leaks. Oh, and the generator engine also stalls. But the sign by the door reminds me "Home is Where the Heart Is" and right now, I couldn't imagine being in any better place.
